WillemHair (WH) is a meme coin designed to operate within the Botanix ecosystem and across 165+ Blockchains.

Technically, the token leverages a Bitcoin Layer 2 solution with full Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) equivalence and Ominichain interoperability Feature (OFT).

Inspired by Willem Schroé, co-founder of Botanix and inventor of the Spiderchain primitive, WillemHair aims to blend humor, community engagement, and financial utility in Bitcoin DeFi.

Vision

1.1 Industry overview

Meme coins have become a cultural and financial phenomenon in the crypto space, combining viral internet culture with blockchain technology to engage communities and drive adoption. While often dismissed as speculative, successful meme coins like Dogecoin, Pepe, and Shiba Inu demonstrate the power of community-driven tokens to create value and foster ecosystems.

However, most meme coins operate on Ethereum, Solana, or other non-Bitcoin networks, leaving the Bitcoin ecosystem largely untapped for such projects. Botanix (ex Botanix Labs), founded in 2022, is transforming Bitcoin by building a fully EVM-compatible Layer 2 solution that brings smart contracts and DeFi applications to Bitcoin. With its mainnet launch on July 1, 2025, Botanix attracted significant attention thanks to its decentralized, secure, and scalable infrastructure, with over 200,000 active addresses and 10,000 experimental token launches during its testnet phase.

The hub is the core of the project, containing multi-functional modules:

The Omni Fungible Token (OFT) is a token standard developed by LayerZero, a protocol designed to enable seamless interoperability across multiple blockchains, allowing a single identical token to exist and move natively across different blockchain networks without wrapping or liquidity fragmentation. Unlike traditional ERC-20 tokens, which are confined to a single blockchain (such as Ethereum), OFT tokens can operate across dozens of networks like Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, and others. OFT maintains a unified total supply by burning tokens on the source chain and minting them on the destination chain. This cross-chain functionality is enabled by LayerZero’s infrastructure, which allows tokens to be minted, transferred, and traded across 165+ blockchains with a single click.

For WillemHair ($WH), OFT status means it is not limited to a single blockchain ecosystem. Investors can mint, trade, or transfer WillemHair tokens across multiple networks without complex bridging solutions or excessive fees.
